Liz and
Darron
NOT TO BE
MISSED!

Tomorrow night
John Gaudio will talk to Liz
and Darron.
Darron is an MS sufferer and is
going to share his experiences
before and after Stem Cell
transplant with us.
Exciting times for them both since
Darron will have a second
transplant shortly.

As far as Darron's 'progress' goes,
his leg spasms seem to have become
more frequent. I'm not sure if that
is a natural progression of the MS
or what. I do know they became less
after the first transplant. But he
is now able to pull in his stomach
muscles and Dr Bright said that was
a great as it will help with
balance and support his back.
As I mentioned, his next session is
on 29th September.
And I met a friend for the first
time in years, was telling her
about the whole thing and as a
child she had polio. She went and
saw Dr Bright, who said he probably
couldn't help her post polio, but
other related hip and leg and nerve
problems, quite possibly. She's
having a transplant the day after
Darron.
Another friend is taking their
grandson with severe cerebal palsy
with a possible transplant. Dr
Bright is doing research and feels
that it certainly couldn't make
matters any worse.
So, three patients, three different
problems. It really is very
exciting times.
Even the MS Society are finally
acknowledging the use of Stem cell
treatment, something they've
shunned in the
past. |

Scientists have found a control switch that
regulates
stem cell "pluripotency,"
the capacity of stem cells to develop into any
type of cell in the human body. The discovery
reveals that pluripotency is regulated by a
single event in a process called alternative
splicing.
